The best of us have biases

“You’ll laugh on hearing this, but since I was out of South India for long, all I want is a simple meal with more kozhambu, sambhar, kootu, aviyal, that’s more than enough. I love the typical kerala meal but for the rice.”
“Non-veg saapida maataya?”
“Illai, saapida maaten.”
“Are you an agraharathu payyan?”

அக்ரஹாரத்துப் பையன் என்றால் வெறுக்குமளவு என்ன நடந்திருந்தது?

I know it sounds stupid to link food and patriotism, but I felt a bit of pride in retaining Indian food habits in the US. Making sambhar in a hotel in the mountains with the nearest Indian few hundred miles away is an awesome feeling – its like hoisting the Indian flag in Siachen thrice a day!
